AUTHOR, PROFESSIONAL SPEAKER, ENTREPRENEUR and CREATOR of CAREER POCKET GUIDES™
I am an accomplished business professional and co-author of “The Ultimate Career Pocket Guide” (Amazon, 2016) from my Career Pocket Guides™ series. A series aiming to provide practical tips and insights that no one wants to share, but are essential for career success. The second Career Pocket Guide book forthcoming in 2017 is focused on professional communication. I am also a columnist for the online magazine, The New York Report. My column is “The Ultimate Career.” I have written articles for LinkedIn, Black Career Women’s Network, The Huffington Post, Ellevate Women’s Network as well as my blog at FrancineParham.com.
I also speak professionally. My keynotes, speaking presentations, workshops and SkillUp! Professional ™ programs focus on the additional and often unspoken skills needed to successfully navigate in one’s career. This based on my two decades of leadership experiences as a practitioner in several corporate environments and cultures throughout the world and now as an entrepreneur with a business focused on leadership and professional development. I focus on the fact that no one achieves anything alone and we all deserve to be developed for success through the power of our networks and strategic connections; mentorship; sponsorship and; mastering the unspoken skills to accelerate one’s career – a career that yields success.
My last assignment was a global position as Vice-President, Human Resources for Johnson and Johnson. I focused on the development of talent throughout the world and providing the needed support and resources for thousands employees irrespective of level or title. I also worked for the General Electric Company in the capacity of Vice President, beginning my career at General Mills, Inc. upon completion of graduate school.
I hold master’s degrees from the University of Illinois – Labor and Employment Relations and from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism (confirmed 2017). My undergraduate degree is from Purdue University in which I majored in business communication and psychology.
I am honored and proud to be the mother of an entrepreneur and owner of an online marketplace named LogonTutor.com, matching tutors with students to achieve their academic goals. My son Christopher Parham-Darabi is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.
